“We love our remodeled kitchen. We are foodies who love to cook and entertain. The first remodel of the kitchen, laundry area, and powder room was thirty years ago. Appliances were tired and needed replacing; more storage and counterspace was needed in the laundry room, and wood floors in these areas needed to be refinished or replaced with tile.

Laura of Denizen was able to very quickly note some changes that would make the kitchen area more open and usable. They were ideas we hadn’t even considered: moving the refrigerator, removing a stove/island surround, putting LED lighting under pass-through cabinets, changing one cabinet to a liquor storage unit and using pull out drawers throughout. The Denizen employees and subcontractors were always polite and easy to have in our home. The construction areas were sealed off from the rest of the house which kept dust to a minimum. The quality and expertise of the subcontractors was impressive. Laura’s attention to detail is an asset. She was very willing to let us take the lead on design details such as paint colors, wallpaper designs, tile and granite selection. As with any major remodel, there are ‘bumps in the road’. We were able to work with Laura and Chris Jolley to come to satisfactory conclusions.

You and your colleagues were always available to answer any of our seemingly endless questions about the interior and exterior of the house and its various systems and appliances. You immediately responded to all of our emails and phone calls. When we decided to replace the carpet with wood, you quickly gave us an estimate and not only arranged to have the work done, but also arranged to have our furniture moved and re-moved to accommodate the work.

No matter how many times we contacted you, you never made us feel less than important, no matter how trivial the issue or question we had may have been.
